SUMMARY:COLMENA\, a new concept on lunar exploration
DESCRIPTION:We are stepping at the gates of a new era in space exploration\, one which will finally incorporate the inner solar system to society’s daily life and economics. The first step is the Moon\, and the asteroids will probably follow. The surface of those bodies presents special challenges for human and technological activities as well as resource exploitation. These challenges\, which include regolith\, extreme thermal amplitude\, high energy radiation and surface mineral mixing among others\, open the door to new operational approaches. COLMENA is the pathfinder of one such avenue: using swarms of micro-rovers for scientific exploration\, resource prospection or\, eventually\, mining The first COLMENA mission will deploy 5 microrovers (56 grams each) on the Moon surface by the end of this year\, flying on board a private spacecraft. In the talk I will briefly explain the context\, technical characteristics and objectives of the mission\, as well as its future.\n\nA short bio\nDr. Gustavo MEDINA TANCO is Professor at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences of UNAM in Mexico\, where he leads the group of ultra-high energy cosmic rays and is the Head of the Laboratory for Space Instrumentation\, LINX\, which he created in 2009. He has also created\, and is responsible for\, the National Laboratory for Space Access (LANAE) in state of Hidalgo\, Mexico\, which will start operation in 2022. He was for 10 years the science coordinator of the International JEM-EUSO Collaboration and member of its executive board and\, as such he lead the Mexican participation in the development of several instruments under the coordination of CNES\, NASA\, ASI and ROSCOSMOS. He implemented a platform for stratospheric ballooning of small science and engineering payloads which operates regularly from Mexico and has also flown in cooperation with CSBF-NASA. He has been the PI and project manager of the NanoConnect-2 satellite and the COLMENA lunar mission. He has been a member of the Commissions of Industry 4.0 and Smart Cities respectively\, of the Confederation of Chambers of Industry of Mexico (CONCAMIN). He is an elected member of the IAA\, member of the Science Group of the ISECG\, of the Innovation and Commercialization WG of Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence\, of the SATC of the IAF. He has been professor at the Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (IAG) of the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil and Adjoint Professor of Physics at Vanderbilt University\, USA as well as visiting scholar of RIKEN Institute in Japan. He is also Scientific Advisor to the Secretary of Foreign Relations of Mexico. MEDINA TANCO made his major in Physics at UNT in Argentina\, his PhD at USP in Brazil\, and postdoctoral stays at IAG-USP\, University of Cambridge\, UK\, and University of Leeds\, UK. He is the author of 217 articles in scientific refereed journals and more than 500 conference papers\, with more that 20\,000 citations.\n\n\nFollow the livestream on the Space Renaissance YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/7OH-PEO_bS4 \nAlso click ‘going’ on the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1049275022384963/

SUMMARY:How to build a planet?
DESCRIPTION:This title is not a new project for terraforming Mars or a “Plan B” for the time after the climate catastrophe. The title describes the anachronistic activity of traditional globe making. Admittedly\, this craft seems out of time in times of Google Maps and GPS navigation. So why learn anything about traditional globe making? In my lecture I will present the work of my “Plantenkugel Manufaktur” founded in 2015. On the one hand I show a traditionally made Mars globe based on the fantastic map by Percival Lowell from 1905. Secondly a NASA based moon relief globe with hand painted albedo will be presented. Selected historical milestones of Martian and Lunar globes will be shown and the making of the two different types of globes will be looked at in detail. Since there are only a handful of traditionally working globe makers left in the world\, the manufacturing details can only be gathered with difficulty. After the lecture\, you will be able to create your own world – be it Mars\, Jupiter\, our Sun or the moons of Mars.\nA short bio\nSince 2017 Prof. Dr. Michael Plichta is Professor of experimental Psychiatry\, Dept. of Psychiatry\, Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy\, at the University Hospital in Frankfurt. NASA based Moon Globe with raised relief. From 2015 to 2016 he was Head of Laboratory\, University Hospital Zurich (USZ)\, Dept. of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (Prof. Ulrich Schnyder). In 2015 Michael worked at the Establishment of the Planetenkugel Manufaktur (PKM) – First globe “Mars and its Canals”. In 2009 and 2010 he got his Post-Doc at Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH)\, Mannheim (Prof. Andreas Meyer-Lindenberg). Since 2004 to 2009 he was a PhD student\,  at Laboratory of Psychophysiology & Functional Imaging\, Department of Psychiatry\, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy\, University Hospital\, Würzburg\, PhD degree (“summa cum laude”). And since 200 to 2004 he made his Psychology studies\, at the University of Giessen\, Diploma in psychology\, University of Giessen.\n\n\nFollow the livestream on the Space Renaissance YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/JiLSeko39ss \nAlso click ‘going’ on the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1465669497236928/

SUMMARY:Toward an Acceptable Framework for Off-Planet Resource Utilization\, with Wes Faires
DESCRIPTION:The Working Group on Space Resources under the United Nations Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UN COPUOS)\, presents an opportunity for a legally binding instrument to develop under the auspices of the United Nations Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNOOSA)\, and do so in a manner favorable to space resource utilization for the private sector. The intended result of the Working Group\, as stated its 5 years workplan\, is to conclude discussions on the development of space resources followed with possible adoption by the United Nations General Assembly as a dedicated resolution or other action. This presentation draws a parallel to a similar scenario with regard to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)\, where a working group on Deep Sea-Bed resources\, executed via specific legal channels within the United Nations\, led to a legally binding instrument: The 1994 Agreement on Implementation\, resulting in a modification of the international framework governing ocean floor minerals. \n\n \n\nThe avenue utilized for the execution of the 1994 Agreement on Implementation for UNCLOS provides a course for legally binding instrument to develop via the Working Group on Space Resources. Such an instrument could serve to interpret and elaborate on ambiguities within the Outer Space Treaty framework\, while avoiding any parallels to the commercially harmful aspects of the top-down governance structure embedded within the International Seabed Authority. \nA short bio \nCharles Wesley Faires made his first entry into the archives of claims to property in Outer Space during college in 2003 when he recorded a 4 page Affidavit claiming ownership to the three stars of Orion’s Belt.  In 2006\, after graduating with a B.S. in Communications\, he made the decision to use this project as a tool obtain an answer from an official source on the legality of off-planet property claims under the Outer Space Treaty once and for all.  A formal letter campaign pinpointed the competent authorities for such matters within the U.S. State Department and the United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs.  He made the decision to take the issue of formal confirmation on the compliance or violation of his Claim of Ownership to Orion’s Belt directly to the source of space law which would require participation in the U.N. Committee of Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNVIENNA) – as a private citizen.  While at the proceedings\, he approached the competent US authorities simply asking whether the claim\, in and of itself\, executed by a “natural person” stood in violation of the Outer Space Treaty – in the view of the competent authority on behalf of the U.S.\, there was no violation.  This paved the way for formal confirmation that nothing in the underlying documents is prohibited by domestic or treaty law\, clearing it for international legal use.  Condoleezza Rice’s signature upon a Claim of Ownership to the 3 stars of Orion’s Belt *executed after contact with the competent authority for space/treaty affairs* in November 2008 was the first formal confirmation on behalf of a State Party that private property rights were not patently unlawful under the Outer Space Treaty.  He has obtained multiple reaffirmations upon various such claims under the past 3 secretaries of state and is now looking to gain similar confirmation outside the U.S. \nFollow the livestream on the Space Renaissance YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/RujfUoLxqNc \nAlso click ‘going’ on the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/546709283500826/

SUMMARY:Exploring the Role of Art in Advancing Space Exploration
DESCRIPTION:Art and Illustration play an important role in the world of aerospace engineering. Envisioning advanced aerospace concepts and operations facilitates the systems engineering process. Visually communicating such complex ideas also enhances public awareness\, understanding and engagement\, and inspires future generations.  I will show how I managed to blend art and engineering to great advantage throughout my technical career in aerospace engineering as well as my Hollywood consulting experience. I will also briefly describe the International Association of Astronomical Artists (IAAA). The IAAA is an inclusive group of space artists who work in a very wide range of techniques and media. Our common bond is the love of astronomy\, science\, space exploration and all things related. I doubt there are many other groups on the planet quite like it.\nAldo Spadoni is an aerospace engineer and futurist with over 40 years of experience. He is a veteran of numerous advanced development programs for NASA\, the United States Air Force and Navy. He is a recipient of NASA’s Turning Goals Into Reality award for Reusable Launch Vehicle Development. Aldo created an award-winning simulation team at Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. He is President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Association of Astronomical Artists (IAAA). He is an accomplished self-taught artist and concept designer with four US patents to his credit. Aldo’s consulting company\, Aerospace Imagineering\, specializes in the conceptual design\, visualization and prototyping of advanced technology concepts and products. As a Hollywood technical consultant and concept designer\, he supported the production of APOLLO 13\, SUPERNOVA\, STEALTH\, IRON MAN 1 & 2\, and other movie projects. He is currently the spacecraft technical advisor on the upcoming interstellar adventure film\, PERSEPHONE. Aldo’s personal goals are to promote STEAM education and create compelling positive visions of humanity’s spacefaring future.\n\n\nFollow the livestream on the Space Renaissance YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/JnHWwBz-2pw \nAlso click ‘going’ on the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1026312348003530

SUMMARY:A greater world is possible! Adriano V. Autino presents his book
DESCRIPTION:“A greater world is possible!” represents a deep reflection about the state of civilization\, some possible futures and the deep moral implications of the great choices that civilization has to make. Very often such choices are driven by the evolution of social and international relationships\, rather than by a reasoned and motivated rationale. There is a big difference between United States and Europe in the perception of outer space\, as an area of possible expansion. However\, even where this discussion is far more advanced\, it is hard to overcome the old paradigm of space exploration for its own sake\, which has characterized the strategy of the world’s largest and most advanced space agency\, NASA. So much so that even NASA has often found itself needing to reinvent communication strategies\, aimed at not losing the public funding necessary for its survival. “Before properly understanding the mechanisms that determined this state of affairs for so long\,” says the author\, “I was always shocked and speechless when facing these manifestations of what I thought to be a cultural inconsistency. Why not state clearly that\, should we not expand into space within this century\, our civilization would be prematurely terminated? Why not acknowledge that the expansion beyond the limits of our mother planet is an absolute and vital necessity for a civilization that will soon exceed eight billion individuals? The multiple reasons for such a failure\, for not accepting the agencies’ main mission are political\, economic and military. They are philosophical as well\, deeply rooted in the pre-Copernican paradigm of the “closed world”. These justifications have become clearer to me\, thanks to a patient work of research and informative discussion with other space enthusiasts\, and thanks to that great resource developed over the last thirty years: the global network. However\, the main aim of this work is not to denounce those responsible for a very regrettable delay of half a century\, but rather to put together\, in a coherent and integrated way\, the deeply moral reasons of a finally maturely expansionist strategy.” \nAdriano Vittorio Autino\, born in Moncrivello (VC\, Italia)\, is co-founder and former President of the Space Renaissance Initiative\, since 2010 Space Renaissance International (SRI)\, an inter-cultural non-profit association\, whose mission is the opening of the space frontier: low-cost access to space\, space tourism\, industrialization of the geo-lunar space\, use of near Earth asteroids\, and the full development of space economy. Adriano is dimplomed in Industrial Electronics\, acting since 1971 as a software and system engineer\, then project manager and entrepreneur in the field of real-time automation systems. His insatiable curiosity and the desire to engage in frontier fields have led him to work in the aerospace environment\, and to devise and develop an integrated software system\, supporting the systems engineering and the project lifecycle management processes. Adriano authored and co-authored several books\, papers and articles on the theme of civilization expansion into the outer space. \nA complete list of publications can be seen here https://spacerenaissance.space/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/AVA_BIO_2022.pdf\, and here https://spacerenaissance.space/documents/papers-fragments/ \nFollow the Livestream on the Space Renaissance YouTube Channel:  https://youtu.be/1HNyjLkfyAI \nand click ‘going’ on the Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1365536740591810 \n“A greater world is possible” is available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/greater-world-possible-expansion-civilization/dp/1727889924

SUMMARY:Producing Food in Space - with Dr. Thomas Matula
DESCRIPTION:Perhaps the biggest impact space settlement technology will have on the Earth’s multiple environmental crises is in agriculture. Space habitats will have limited space to produce the food and will need to advance the technology for food production to achieve agriculture self-sufficiency. Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) is the next step in securing the human food supply and consists of moving plants into an enclosed environment in which lighting\, water\, temperature\, nutrients and even the CO2 level in the air is optimized for the species being cultivated.\n \nThe water used is recycled within the system\, reducing the water demand by up to 95%\, critical for resolving the freshwater crisis which is impacting many agriculture regions. Since CEA is independent of seasonal cycles it is possible to produce crops continuedly ensuring a steady supply to markets. The result is a huge increase in crop yields by CEA\, depending on the species\, over existing agricultural yields. Perhaps the greatest impact of CEA will be on climate change as food production and transportation accounts for an estimate one-third of greenhouse gases (Gilbert\, 2012). Because CEA is produced in a controlled environment it is able to use renewable energy instead of fossil fuels for the production of food. It also does not require either pesticides or herbicides because its isolation from the external environment serves as an effective barrier to weeds and insects. Since it is independent of the external environment it is also independent of climate zones\, so the facilities for producing the food could be located near the demand for it\, eliminating the global shipping of agricultural goods that currently accounts for large amounts of greenhouse gases. Finally\, the increased yields resulting from CEA will enable the restoration of tens of millions of square kilometers of land to native ecosystems\, a process that will not only reverse the extinction crisis but also provide for the sequestration of large amounts of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.\n…\nDr. Matula is an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Sul Ross State University – Rio Grande College. His research focus for the last 25 years has been on the economic space development\, the most recent focus on lunar industrialization and the development of economically viable commercial space settlements. MBA\, Ph.D. is Bachelor of Applied Science Program Supervisor at Great Basin College\, Instructor Marketing and Management at Great Basin College\, and Advisor / Investor at Astrosettlements. In his consulting work his focus has been on the application of innovations in the technology environment to business and the development of the space commerce industry. BGS in General Studies at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in 1983. MBA in Management at New Mexico State University in 1986. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration at New Mexico State University in 1994 with the dissertation topic of Commercial Spaceports.\n…\nFollow the Live Stream on the Space Renaissance YouTube Channel: https://youtu.be/nXR_TP1cEAk\nClick ‘going’ on the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/521684869567023/.

SUMMARY:Why Art in Space? - with Sabine Heinz
DESCRIPTION:If you think artists are useless\, try to spend a quarantine period without music\, books\, poems\, movies\, paintings and games.\nThe corona virus has changed our organizational structures worldwide. That also has positive aspects. New technologies have received a boost out of the need to maintain communication structures. This can also be an opportunity. Digitization has entered the world in a new dimension. Elements will find their way into art\, be it as artificial intelligence\, which is already taking place\, or in 3D printing\, video technology or other electronic forms. Entirely new art formats will emerge. The new technical possibilities that arise now also influence the content. SUMMARY:Transterrestialism in the Renaissance and its Importance for today's Space Philosophy
DESCRIPTION:The transterrestrialist view of the world owns ancient roots\, and is very much important today\, while big crises are threatening civilization. Dr. Heuser gives a lecture on transterretrialist philosophy through history\, and the relevance of a sane negentropic philosophic approach\, to sustain humankind evolution into a Solar System civilization\, defeating crises and regressive factors. \nIn the Renaissance period\, Giordano Bruno\, especially in his work “De Immenso” of 1591\, outlined what was probably the first philosophy of space travel. “With the wings of the spirit”\, he undertook journeys to the moon and other celestial bodies\, conducted thought experiments on planetary perspective\, and questioned the reasons for man’s ability to overcome limited horizons. \n\n \n\nAccording to him\, man’s desire to leave the Earth is founded in man’s dual nature. Although he has a limited body\, he has an unlimited mind. Thus\, man is a border crosser between the finite and the infinite and can thus transcend boundaries again and again. Giordano Bruno was a minstrel of the universe\, in which he assumed an unlimited number of solar systems with living beings. The philosopher of German Idealism and Romanticism\, Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph Schelling\, took up Bruno’s ideas and wrote in 1844: man is not a local but a universal being. He originated on Earth\, but he is not there only for the earth. He should rather dwell in the universe. This cosmic anthropology developed in the tradition of philosophy and its possible meaning for the present time is one of the subjects of this lecture by Dr. Heuser. \nAlberto Cavallo\, one of the co-founders of Space Renaissance International\, will add a few considerations about the 15th Century Italian Renaissance. \nA short bio \n\nDr. phil. Marie-Luise Heuser\, philosopher and university lecturer at the Universities of Düsseldorf\, Stuttgart\, Heidelberg and Braunschweig\, most recently at the Institute of Space Systems at the Technical University of Braunschweig. She is the Executive Director of The Society for Space Culture and Head of the Space and Culture Department in the German Aerospace Society (DGLR). \nMain research interests are the philosophy of space travel since antiquity\, space theories\, philosophy of nature\, art and technology\, metaphysics\, ontology and anthropology. \nMarie-Luise is Head of the Space Philosophy Laboratory at Space Renaissance Academy. \n\n\nPublications: \n\nTransterrestrik in der Renaissance. SUMMARY:Women in Astronomy
DESCRIPTION:In the field of astronomy research\, women have made some of the greatest contributions\, even when access to the discipline was restricted. For example\, a century ago women were enlisted to organize the data collected by new telescopes. It was these women\, who were often condemned to only the most repetitive and boring work\, who first understood the true makeup of the stars and how to gauge whether the universe was changing its size. In celebration of International Women’s Day and to champion fuller access to education and careers for woman scientists\, Sabine Heinz meets Seth Shostak to talk about celebrated women in astronomy.\n…\n\nSee the live stream on the Space Renaissance YouTube channel.\nClick ‘going’ to the Facebook event. \n\n…

SUMMARY:Seth Shostak "Will Aliens have Music?"
DESCRIPTION:ABSTRACT\nCan we expect that other intelligence in the cosmos will have music? Vision\, hearing and even smell are all examples of what’s called “convergent evolution” – which is to say that because these senses are useful for survival\, they have arisen in many species.\nBut what about music? While dogs sing and birds whistle\, music is largely restricted to Homo sapiens. And even for our own species\, it’s not clear exactly how or why we developed our talent for music.\nHowever\, and as we’ll discuss\, if the aliens do have music\, it’s probable that it will be somewhat similar to our own. We might not like it\, but we’d probably recognize it.\n\nBIO\nSeth Shostak is Senior Astronomer and Institute Fellow at the SETI Institute. With degrees in physics and astronomy from Princeton University and Caltech\, he has a long history of research in radio astronomy and in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence\, or SETI.\nSeth has written more than 600 popular articles on science and technology\, and hosts the weekly science radio show and podcast “Big Picture Science.” He has authored four books.\n\nClick ‘going’ to Facebook Event\nFollow the live streaming on YouTube

SUMMARY:Humans in Cage\, with Einar Larsen
DESCRIPTION:For years\, humans have been fighting to find a way to help Earth’s environment. They practically did almost everything possible. Still saving whatever they can\, some even sacrifice their own hobbies just to be that good citizen who cares. They actively join groups and community and donate large sums to organization that are searching for a way to save our beloved planet. But all these years the most simple and most effective solution had never been mention. It had always been there\, but no one seems to see it. “Mr. Nobrain and The Environment” is a book that shows you\, through Mr. Nobrain and his actions\, what we’re doing wrong and how to save Earth without sacrificing the comfort of life. All we need is to open our mind and see the great possibility that’s just within our reach: expanding into outer space. \nEinar Charles Larsen is a Norwegian author. A graphic designer by profession\, and an Astronomic artist. Scientist at heart since childhood. \nClick ‘going’ to the Facebook event \nFollow the livestream on YouTube.

SUMMARY:Brett Hoffstadt present his book "Goodnight Moonbase"
DESCRIPTION:Goodnight Moon Base: turning childhood dreams into physical reality.\nWhat do people who have achieved world-changing impact have in common? Their stories often describe how they would fall asleep every night as children\, dreaming of their future as a successful astronaut\, sports star\, or whatever it may be. What if we could inspire children across the world to have vivid\, passionate dreams of people living peacefully and prosperously on the moon? If enough children are captivated by this vision in their earliest memories\, they will create an irresistible force to turn this vision into a physical reality for our species. This is the belief and hypothesis of Brett Hoffstadt\, a former aerospace engineer who has become an author and publisher of children’s books about space\, engineering\, and other STEAM topics. In this presentation you will get a preview of his upcoming children’s bedtime book “Goodnight Moon Base.” Is it scheduled to be published before the end of 2021. Can the dreams of children change the course of human history beyond Earth? Join this presentation to see one person’s mission to make it so. \nClick ‘going’ to the Facebook event.\nFollow the lecture on the Space Renaissance YouTube channel.\nBrett Hoffstadt is an established engineer\, project manager\, author\, and book publisher with two aerospace engineering degrees\, three aviation patents\, and dozens of books published on STEAM topics for adults and children. He is currently employed as an engineer and is finishing his upcoming children’s bedtime book\, “Goodnight Moon Base.” He can be contacted through LinkedIn\, through his website HowToBeARocketScientist.com\, or on Twitter @BrettRocketSci.

SUMMARY:Presentation and discussion of the book "The Case for Space"
DESCRIPTION:Bob Zubrin\, President and Founder of the Mars Society\, will present his book “The Case for Space”\, a broad vision of our civilization present and future\, based on a strong humanist philosophy. \nFueled by the combined expertise of the old aerospace industry and the talents of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs\, spaceflight is becoming cheaper. The new generation of space explorers has already achieved a major breakthrough by creating reusable rockets. Zubrin foresees more rapid innovation\, including global travel from any point on Earth to another in an hour or less; orbital hotels; moon bases with incredible space observatories; human settlements on Mars\, the asteroids\, and the moons of the outer planets; and then\, breaking all limits\, pushing onward to the stars. \nZubrin shows how projects that sound like science fiction can actually become reality. But beyond the how\, he makes an even more compelling case for why we need to do this — to increase our knowledge of the universe\, to make unforeseen discoveries on new frontiers\, to harness the natural resources of other planets\, to safeguard Earth from stray asteroids\, to ensure the future of humanity by expanding beyond its home base\, and to protect us from being catastrophically set against each other by the false belief that there isn’t enough for all. \nFacebook Event \nYouTube Stream

SUMMARY:China's Space Programme: born out of national needs poised to support global progress
DESCRIPTION:China’s space programme – born out of national needs poised to support global progress\nAbstract: The 21st century is believed to become the Asian century. \nIn the last few years China has introduced several economic and political initiatives which promote its rise as a global power. Embedded in its development and rise is the national space programme.\nWestern observers tend to look at China’s space programme as being small\, slow\, technologically less advanced\, and not significant enough. Is that correctly reflected or what is it then? Is China’s space programme able to support not only national advancement in science and technology but also support global societal progress? Which role does the New Silk Road project (One Belt – One Road\, BRI) play in this process? How is space technology\, embodied in the “Belt and Road Space Information Corridor” supporting the concept of a “community of shared future for mankind” and drive global solutions for society? The authors\, through consulting open-source information and performing in-depth analyses\, look to find qualified answers to these questions and give the audience sufficient background knowledge about the history and the present to evaluate China’s space projects in an educated manner.\n\n\nLecturer: Jacqueline Myrrhe\nThe presentation is the result of the work of the European-Chinese GoTaikonauts! Team\, a group of space enthusiasts observing the Chinese space programme for 20 years.\nThe talk is given by Jacqueline Myrrhe\, space journalist from Neubrandenburg\, Germany. Jacqueline has 22 years of experience in consultancy and publishing (books\, space magazine “Raumfahrt Concret”) and is since 2010 reporting on the Chinese space programme (GoTaikonauts! www.go-taikonauts.com).\nAlso\, she has accumulated 20 years of working as contractor for the European Space Agency where she has been assigned to different functions\, such as: analysis of international exploration plans\, science data base curation\, reporting\, content provider\, outreach and communication\, space education.

SUMMARY:Space Medicine\, Health and MedTech Innovations\, a lecture by Susan Ip-Jewell
DESCRIPTION:Space Medicine\, Health and MedTech Innovations\, a lecture by Susan Ip-Jewell\nIn the frame of the new Space Renaissance Academy Webinar Series programme\, chaired by the optimum Sabine Heinz\, a quite interesting and rich lecture was given yesterday by Dr. Susan Ip Jewell.\nSusan is CEO and founder of Mars Moon Astronautic Academy Research Science (MMAARS)\, one of the SRI VicePresidents and a pasionate space activist. And she’s Commander of Analog Training missions on Moon and Mars simulated surface.\nIn her lecture\, she gives us a wide overlook on many aspects of human health in space\, the edge of the space medicine\, the innovative techniques using incremental technologies\, developing systems integrating robotic\, artificial intelligence\, remote telemedicine\, avatars and drones.\n \nBtw\, Sabine\, in addition to being an efficient organizer and coordinator\, has revealed unexpected talents as a great media presenter!Sabine was fantastic\, moderating the intense discussion that followed the lecture\, about the many challenges humanity is facing\, while kicking off the civilian space development.\nSeveral questions and considerations were raised\, by the audience\, and by the panelists — Bernard Foing\, SRI President\, A. V. Autino. former SRI President and SR Academy Strategy Director\, Sabine Heinz\, Chair of the Webinar Series and of the SR Art Chapter\, Thomas Matula\,  SR Academy\, Educational Director — on topics like (randomly): \n\nin few months we will have four civilians flying on ISS: though the media only talk about this exciting event in a superficial mode\, several challenges stand in the background\nwhat is the main danger for health in space\, low gravity\, radiations\, somethimg else\nwhat will be the embryo development in space?\nwill reproduction be possible in space?\nis there a doctor onboard ISS?\nwill the civilian visitors to ISS have any kind of medical insurance\, or warrants? will anybody be responsible for their life ad health?\ndoes any idea exist\, about what could be surgery in microgravity?\nduring civilian space development\, will the main danger be the human aspects and behaviours?\nwill social issues raise and play a meaningful role\, during the settlement oin the Solar System? (refer: R. Heinlein\, James Corey “The Expanse”\, John Brunner\, Ursula Le Guin\, and more… Paul Anderson\, Jack vance\, …)\nhumanity will face many challenges\, it will be an evolutionary challenge: we will have to grow very much in maturity; however\, the positive thing is the enormous abundance of resources of the asteroids\, the planets and tjeir moons\ncivilian space development will benefit space settlers and planet Earth\, and the ones that will remain\nwith the growth of the space economy\, and the exo-industrial development\, space will be a possibility for everybody\, not only for the few rich people who can afford at the dawn of the space age\, that we are living now\nexperiments of surgery in zeroG were done during parabolic zeroG flights\ntelerobotic surgery is beinge experimented on Earth (Earth to Earth)\nanalog missions are being developed\, to experiment mixed crews\, composed by humans\, robots and avatars\nsending avatars to the Moon will be useful\, during the preparation for human presence\npsychological issues will be the main challenge\, wherever humans are in the loop\, there will be unpredictable events… this is the danger\, and the beauty of human communities\, wherever they are\nliving on the Moon\, on Mars\, or in space O’Neill habitats\, will generate new cultures\, new social models\, new governance methods\, different from the ones we knew on Earth (capitalism\, socialism\, etc…)\n\nPresident Foing concluded the webinar with a few remarks. Space Renaissaance starts on Earth. Now we have more tools to observe and protect the Earth\, we have more connectivity\, but we also have more tools to damage it. With space exploration\, thinking and meditation\, we can promote the value of science\, of progress\, of technology  of critical sensing thinking\, social responsibility. So we have to become more mature\, learning to live on multiple planets and improve our society. Analog training is important for all of the above\, exploring our limits and also multiply our capabilities. What are we going to teach in the future schools on the Moon to our children born on the Moon; heritage\, responsibility intercultural. And we can use robots and avatars. In 20 years i plan to retire on the Moon\, on the near side\, so i can look at all of you in the sky\, and i will invite you all to visit me\, to the Moon Olympics\, but also to the next series of the Space Renaissance Webinars.\nThe whole webinar is available on the Youtube Space Renaissance channel: https://youtu.be/rwF4jbsE4oc \n\nDon’t forget to subscribe to the channel! \nHere you can see the SRI Webinar Series Calendar\, coordinated by Sabine Heinz\, with many dates already confirmed up to 2022.\nWant to help\, or participate? SUMMARY:The Space Renaissance and Spirituality
DESCRIPTION:The webinar “The Space Renaissance and Spirituality” will discuss another\, often neglected\, primary need of humans: spirituality. Spirituality animated human deep feeelings  and culture since the very ancient times of our history on our mother planet\, Earth. Spirituality is a feeling that characterizes us\, as human beings\, and cannot be felt by other sentient but not self-aware and less intelligent species. Spirituality suggests reverence for life and great appreciation for the highest expression of nature: the intelligent life. \nThe Webinar Series are done in the frame of 2021 Space Renaissance Congress “The Civilian Space Development”. \nThe panel includes: \nThe Cometan (Brandon R. Taylorian\, founder of the Astronism channel\, UK)\nGiulio Prisco (blogger and founder of the Turing Church\, Hungary)\nAlberto Cavallo (SRI Co-Founder\, Buddhist\, Engineer\, Scholar of Philosophy\, Italy)\nTsvi Bisk (Strategic Futurist\, author of Cosmodeism: A Worldview for the Space Age\, founder of The Center for Strategic Futurist Thinking\, Israel)\nSteven Wolfe (Founder of Beyond Earth Institute\, author of “The Obligation“\, evolutionist philosopher\, USA)\nAdriano V. Autino (SRI President and Co-Founder\, author of “A greater world is possible!”\, trying to develop further the Astronautic Humanism philosophy)\nModerates: Giulio Prisco\n\n…\nSome introductory questions to the panelists. \n\n\nSpirituality\, and religion\, animated human efforts during the the whole human history\nReligions were often used as a sectarian flag\, to motivate wars\, conquers and ethnic cleansing anti-human campaigns\nHowever\, at the dawn of expansion into outer space\, humans feel the need to cultivate spirituality — both as individuals and communities — facing the magnificent mistery of the Universe\nIn the same time\, a mature open spirituality could be a wonderful synergystic alliedm with science and philosophy\, helping to motivate the profund evolutionary impulse to expand Earthly bioma into the Solar System and beyond\nThe original meaning of the term Religion\, from Latin language\, is religere=joining efforts\, and can be related to both theist and secular communities\nShould space advocacies include spirituality in their public outreach and discussion?\nIf yes\, how to avoid this message to be confused with irrational\, new ageist and fake metaphysics\, so common in the web age?\nWhich are the common shared deep humanist concepts and ideals\, among some currents\, such as Astronautic Humanism\, Astronism\, Cosmodeism\, and some theist and non theist Religions?\nThe aim of this discussion shouldn’t be a game among different spiritual currents\, but a first effort to share and put together some agreed concepts and believes\, for the sake of the space renaissance\, a true and urgent well motivated strategy of space settlement\n\n\nClick going to the Facebook Event \nThe Webinar Series are done in the frame of 2021 Space Renaissance Congress “The Civilian Space Development”.
