Called one of the world’s top space “visionaries” and most influential people in the space field, Rick helped coin the term "NewSpace," and is credited with helping birth the new commercial space industry highlighted by Musk, Bezos and Branson. A leading writer, speaker, and six-time Congressional witness, Rick helped start the first mission to find water Read More
Abstract - AGOS Living in space in a zero- or low-gravity environment like the Moon or Mars causes danger to human health, such as bone demineralization or muscle atrophy. In the long run space habitats need gravity simulation by rotating around their main axis. The AGOS (Artificial Gravity Orbital Station) project was designed as a Read More
Abstract Join us on November 6th at 3:00 PM Eastern Time for a one-hour presentation on large scale life support systems. Explore the current state of space technologies and their potential applications, both in space and here on Earth. Discover how these innovations are shaping the decades to come of human space exploration, from lunar Read More
Abstract Danielle Futselaar presents her new book. An adventure discovering what the secret places of the universe might look like. The universe is infinitely vast, dangerous, and super secretive. Travel with Jesse, who is a space travel tester and he makes sure you don't accidentally land in an asteroid field or black hole, or land on a Read More
Abstract What is the relationship between life in heaven and life in outer space? Galileo famously quipped “The intention of the Holy Ghost is to teach us how one goes to heaven – not how heaven goes.” Jesus Ascension was not the same as the ascent of a rocket. Abstract It is a common opinion that space exploration is a matter that exclusively involves science and technology. Certainly the exploits of Gagarin or Apollo 11, the missions of the Shuttle, Mir or the ISS, to mention only the milestones of these first 50 years, were made possible by an amazing leap forward in mathematics, Read More
Abstract It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to let us know that Spaceship Earth is in deep trouble. Humanity is operating as if we did not live on a finite planet with limited resources and a fragile ecosystem. Beyond our blindness to the interconnected nature of everything on Earth, we are using our intelligence to Read More
Abstract n the XXI century, the world of orbital launchers has started a revolution, a fundamental change of paradigm: the replacement of expendable rockets with reusable ones is well underway. This presentation summarizes the situation at the beginning of year 2024. Biography Alberto Cavallo is an Electrical Engineer, graduated at the Politecnico di Torino in Read More
Abstract I’ll elaborate on the cultural issues discussed in my book “Futurist spaceflight meditations” (2021). Then I’ll discuss the long term future of space expansion and elaborate on its spiritual implications. Biography Giulio Prisco is a writer, futurist, and sometimes philosopher. He worked as a scientist in European research centers including CERN, then as a Read More
Abstract Robotics plays a key role in space exploration, and will still be a key tool for expanding human frontiers in the solar system. Robotics is applicable in the orbital domain, for satellite maintenance, assembly of large structures in orbit, or in-station servicing. For planetary exploration, robots offer multiple options for telepresence of humans in Read More
Abstract This lecture will explore and discuss the key structural, institutional, as well as theoretical and mathematical transformations necessary for a sustainable human civilisation capable of sustainable outer space development and exploration. The lecture will also address the main reasons why our current efforts, however valiant, will struggle to deliver the results we seek without Read More
