Chile Space Ecosystem and challenges – with Loreto Moraga

Abstract

Description of the current state of Chile’s space ecosystem, based on the five pillars defined in international studies; the challenges and opportunities that arise from this.

A short bio

Dr. Loreto Moraga – Lawyer, Universidad de Chile, Master in Business Law, Universidad del Desarrollo; Managing Director of Law firm Moraga Contracts & Corporate; President of the Chilean Space Association A.G. – ACHIDE; President of the Chilean Helicopter Association A.G. – ACHHEL; Member of the Chilean Institute of Aviation and Space Law – IDAE. Between 1996 and 2007, she was an associate lawyer and Head of the Corporate Services Area at Estudio Carvallo, a firm specialized in the areas of Aviation Law and Insurance Law. As of 2007, she began working independently, constituting the Law firm “Moraga Contracts & Corporate” that advises aeronautical manufacturers and operators, suppliers of goods and services in mining, and engineering service companies. In 2008 he participated in the creation of Chilean Helicopter Association, joining its board of directors and from 2018 assuming the presidency, leading the creation in Chile of the operational safety project “VAST Chile” and currently starting the “Advance Air Mobility” road map project with the Civil Aviation Board, Ministries of Energy, Transportation, Public Infraestructure, and private organizations. During the year 2017 she participates in the review of the space policy and in 2018 she assumes as director and first vice president of the Chilean Space Association, which she currently chairs.
