SRIC4 #06: “Cake O’Peace”

1 December @ 9:00 pm - 10:30 pm CET

This is the preliminary webinar #06 of the IV SRI World Congress (SRIC4)

Abstract

Peace of Cake is a symbolic culinary project called “Cake O’Peace” associated with Guy Pignolet from La Réunion. It evokes the Apollo-Soyouz docking system as a metaphor for peace. Guy Pignolet, a Senior Space Educator involved with the Réunion Island Space Initiative, and Julien Leveneur promote this initiative as a call for peace through a symbolic cake. Events related to this include a Space Renaissance Webinar on December 1, 2025, featuring Guy Pignolet and Julien Leveneur, and the upcoming publication of a related book on December 20, 2025. This project ties together space themes and peace advocacy using a culinary metaphor linked to Réunion Island and its community.
Together with the French Champion of Pastry Julien Leveneur, we are launching the Peace of Cake project of home pastry cooking of cakes in the shape of the APAS docking system for the world promotion of the Apollo-Soyuz industry cooperation spirit that will help the development of SRI visions. We shall ask people worldwide to make cakes in their kitchens and tell their families, neighbours, and their local economic community. We shall ask them to send their recipe and two pictures of their cakes. We shall make a limited selection of the most interesting contributions, and edit an internet book that will also mention all the contributors worldwide.
