Abstract
This talk highlights how space habitats support future human missions by testing technology, human adaptation, and psychological resilience. Drawing on the EMMPOL 21 analog mission, it shows why art and human-centered design are essential for creating livable environments beyond Earth.
A short bio
Sabine Heinz is a German Artist, dedicated to Space Art and space related Art. Under the topic “Art meets Science” she explored different techniques such as working with fluorescent and phosphorescent paint or with oxidation processes. She also works digital on her ipad. Sabine Heinz lives and works as a partially freelance artist in Berlin. The subjects of her work are landscapes, humans and, since 2009, space art as well. In doing so, she explores varies techniques such as printing, collage, mixed media and ipad drawings and collages, some of which she animates. She experiments with different materials and tries to build a bridge between art and science. What inspired her most, in her art work: Evolution of humankind and its cosmic destiny. The beauty, the mystery and the majesty of the universe. Space X, space exploration, peaceful space settlement, expanding civilization into space, Moon, Mars, asteroids and beyond, art movements, such as surrealism, space art, art in space, science and technology and the natural beauty of Planet Earth and other planets as well as humans, the people of planet Earth, social themes and needs.
